I've Got...

I've got the very first lily bloom of the season.

I've got new things blooming every day.

I've got roses galore.

I've got new plants,

old plants,

and seedlings popping up.

It's something different every day.

I've also got weeds to dig, mulch to spread, and lawns to mow.  I've got doctor's appointments, dentist appointments, and other obligations.

I've even got a summons for jury duty!

And, most importantly, I've got company coming over the next couple of weeks.  Not just for a day or two.  But for the entire two weeks.

So, I'll be posting very little during that time.  There are still a few memes I want to participate in, but other than that, I'll be enjoying my company, enjoying my garden, and hopefully working in a few chores here and there.

Until then, I hope you've got blooms of your own to enjoy.

  1. The garden is looking terrific as always. If only my roses looked half as nice! My favourite shot is the one with the mounds of pink and red roses. Enjoy your time with company Holley!

  2. Some say you can't have it all...looks like you will have it all, including the jury duty. But so much good within some of that, it looks like great times!

  5. It is amazing how life gets in the way of gardening! I had my attention taken elsewhere last week, but when I finally got back to my garden, it was full of surprises.

  9. That pink delphinium/larkspur caught my eye. So pretty and delicate.

Summertime, Living is Easy, Houseguests are fun, not so much Jury Dury.

  11. You are one busy person these days! Have you ever served on a jury before? I did a long time ago. Good luck! And find some time to relax a little bit and enjoy the beautiful weather!

  12. Your garden and life are so full. I'm tempted to break into song - "I've got the sun in the morning and the moon at night." or maybe "I've got rhythm, I've got music." Anyway, the magic of the season is surely upon you and your garden! Enjoy! (Well, maybe not so much that jury duty thing.)

  15. Holley, it's true: every day something new in the garden! Nice first lilies and roses bushes!
I wish you have a nice time with your guests and hope to read new post.

  16. Spring is such a busy time! You pretty much have to schedule in a time for strolling round the garden not doing anything. I hope you have a wonderful time while your guests are staying. And I wouldn't worry about the weeds... I think your garden is gorgeous enough that guests won't even notice them!

  17. It's been raining here for two days, so I hope I will have the 'I gots' soon! The lily is scrumtious! What do I see in the background of some of your photos? Your Darwin rose looked to have a field of grain in the distance? I bet it is pretty swaying in the breeze.

    1. I think that "field of grain" is just a field of coastal bermuda grass! Our house sits right in the middle of a pasture. :)

  21. Enjoy your company... It's a great time for folks to visit you since you can really show off your yard!!!! Everything looks so nice.. Love your lilies... The deer ate a bunch of our lily buds this week. Dang it! Hopefully, we will have a few lilies left to bloom.

  23. Wow, can't believe how far ahead you are now, It's still going very slowly here in London. A nice day here and there doesn't really make up for all the cold weather we have had! I still haven't got one single rose fully out, but my rhododendron has just started, only 6-7 weeks late. The colour of my garden is basically...green.
Good luck with everything happening the next couple of weeks and enjoy your visit, lovely to have your lilies out just in time :-)

  24. Everything looks great. What kind of lily is that? Enjoy your visitors. Maybe you can get them to help with the garden chores!

    1. The lily is Casa Blanca - or Casablanca, not sure which. Anyway, I just love it!

  25. Jury duty too, that's too much! Spring seems like such a rush, everything at once this year. I am certainly NOT complaining, just feeling like I'm behind in everything (maybe I'm just getting older :) Enjoy your garden in bloom!

  26. Are you sure you don't live out by me in the piney woods of East Texas. You and I have the same affinity for garden flowers (except roses - they scare me). And, I GOT a jury summons for June 4!!!!!!

  29. You've got such beautiful blooms and how exciting that your lilies are starting to open. I have a few daylilies open but no oriental lilies yet. Enjoy your company and "talk" with you in a couple of weeks!

  30. Wow, you are waaay ahead of us here in southern Ontario! Tulips are just finishing up over here--we won't see lilies until July. Amazing.

    1. Do you mean the pink one? It's an 'Anthony Waterer' spirea. It looks wonderful for a few weeks - the rest of the time, it's not so pretty!

  39. A treasure trove, for sure. So much to enjoy, so much to look forward to.

  40. Jealous... my yellow day lilies are going but none of the orange ones. They are planted near each other so they can be beautiful together. It's like the orange ones told the yellows "you first!" this year. Oh, well, that's gardening. Your pictures, your garden is beautiful.

  41. As the saying goes - If you've 'got it' flaunt it!
Enjoy your visitors. Your garden is looking gorgeous Holley.

  42. My garden surely has more weeds than flowers right now. I've been on something of a hiatus, as you will be. But the flowers kept on blooming, visitors continued to enjoy it, and somewhat to my surprise, the garden held its own, despite the weeds and wildlife. Don't worry, Holly; your glorious garden will wait for you. I wish you a smooth and successful two weeks with your guests. We (your readers) will miss you, but like your garden, we'll still be here, patiently waiting for a new great post.

  43. Holley, I'm late to wish you good luck with your company and jury duty. I am enjoying your garden much more than mine! Look at all the gorgeous blooms. I pulled out some weeds yesterday that were almost up to my waist.....and I'm kinda tall. Oh well, at least I have healthy weeds. :-)

  44. what a lot of flowers - enjoy the summer Holley. btw, I just published a book review. It is too late to link with your meme. Shame - but I'm thinking of you, and still following the meme even without joining in! (I started feeling pressured so now I blog without thinking about time)
